Greetings,
How the time flies. As summer begins to wane we find it is once more time for us to talk a bit about what's happening here at the store. First, we have some great new events launching over the next month, so that's as good a place to start as any. Diving right in:
Sunday Pokemon League
An all ages Pokemon league every Sunday 1:30pm to 4:30pm. The first league day will be Sunday, Sept 1st. Nice casual play format for younger players. $5 entry gets each player 1 Pokemon booster pack of their choice, 1 random Pokemon single and they get to play in a 3 round swiss league event. Friday Family Game Night
Also launching this September is GOB's family board and card game night. Every Friday evening at 6pm beginning on Friday, September 6th, GOB will be hosting our family board and card game nights. Each night we'll be demoing a different game from our game library and giving away Free board game rentals door prizes. We'll also be running ocasional Asmoplay special scenarios and giving away kit contents. Got your own games you want to play? That's cool tool. Bring them. Come join other area board gamers and try out some new games!
Games Workshop Speed Painting Competition
Like painting Warhammer models? Want to see how your painting stacks up? GOB is hosting a Speed Painting contest on Saturday, August 24th from 2pm to 3:30pm. To enter you need only to buy the model you will be painting. After painting, models will be placed in a showcase at GOB for customers to vote on for a period of two weeks. For full details:

Age of Sigmar Escalation League
GOB will be launching an Age of Signmar Escalation League on Saturday, August 31st. League will run until Saturday October 5th. Details to be announced soon. You can get the latest new as we release it on our facebook group here:

New Magic the Gathering Night - Pauper Tuesdays
Starting on Tuesday, August 27th GOB will begin hosting weekly Pauper play. 6:30 weekly. We'll be alternating play format from 1v1 3round swiss events to multi-player pauper. $2 entry with all going into store credit/Magic point prizing.

Wingspan Board Game
The smash board game hit of the year - Wingspan has landed. The 12 copies arriving today though are already spoken for. Dungeons and Dragons Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus Adventure

Pokemon TCG Stock Up
GOB has massively expanded our selection of the Pokemon Trading Card Game. We've scoured the racks at all of our distributors and brought in absolutely everything still remotely available. Booster packs, Theme Decks, Elite Trainer Boxes, collectors tins, Poke-Balls, EX collectors sets and more. Come check it out.
Tons of Board Games - The Post Gen Con Flood

Store Transformation Underway!!!
Each year our family goes on vacation we build some extra time into visiting the best game and comic stores we can find. This year we visited an amazing 44 great stores from Texas and Florida. We're always exploring to find the best in game and comic stores and from these trips we get to see some amazing stores. And we bring home with us lots of great ideas on how to make GOB Retail the best store it can be for our customers.
This latest trip brought us a treasure trove of great ideas. From simple but important best practices to new ways to display things better to lots of great new merchandise we should be offering. So please bare with us over the next month or two if you find sections of the store undergoing a bit of transformation as we move things around to make room for a lot of great improvements and new products that are incoming.
