Spring is here and with it comes a few more changes around the store and lots of great gaming events.
New Comic Kiosk :
The latest tech addition to the store. The new Comic Kiosk is a computer we've placed in our comics and graphic novel area and provides you the new easy product look ups for Comics, Graphic Novels and Comic Bundles, giving you in-store access to our real-time inventory of over 90,000 comics and graphic novels. Additionally, the Comic Kiosk has a live demo the GOB Comic Subscription system, the handy dandy subscription management system you have access to, for FREE, 24/7, just for pre-ordering your comics through GOB. If you haven't checked it out yet, ask an associate for a demo and we'll be happy to show you. Dungeons and Dragons Teen Summer Camps
GOB will once again be running some Dungeons and Dragons summer camps this year. Due to popular demand, we've expanded the number of camps this year to four. The teen summer camps are for players ages 12-18 and will be run by GOB staff and Dungeon Master Aric. Summer camps wil run 12:30 to 4:30 on the following dates:
- June 25-28 (camp 1)
- July 9-12 (camp 2)
- July 16-19 (camp 3)
- July 23-26 (camp 4)
Summer camp 1 will begin play with characters at level 1. Each subsequent camp will raise the starting character level for the 4-day camp, so players could potentially carry over their characters from one camp into the the next. Seating for each camp will be limited to the first 8 players to register. If you would like to pre-register your teen for one or more camps you can do so in the store or online (link below). Magic Modern Horizons Pre-Releases and Pre-Orders June 8-9th
A first for Magic, the upcoming modern set Modern Horizons will be the first set specifically for Modern that has both new cards and reprints of older cards. Reprints will be mostly modern cards, but will also include som cards that are legacy only in format right now that will be brought back into Modern with their reprinting. But more than half the set will also be brand new card designs released straight into Modern. The other new twist for this set is we will be allowed to a run pre-releases and buy-a-box customers will be able to pick up their boxes during pre-release weekend.
In approximately 1 week GOB will begin accepting box pre-orders for Modern Horizons on Pre-Order Plus. We will also begin pre-registration for Modern Horizon pre-releases that will be run on Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th. Pre-releases will be $27.99 to pre-register or $30 at the door. Format for the Modern Horizon pre-releases will be sealed event, 3 packs of Modern Horizons, 30 card deck minimums. Play will be 4 rounds of swiss play and per usual, GOB will be offering a guaranteed prize for anyone who pays through, regardless of win record. There will be 3 pre-releases in total.
- Saturday, June 7th - 1pm
- Saturday, June 7th - 7pm (2 headed giant)
- Sunday, June 8th - 1pm
