GOB Retail is located in Clawson, along the border between Oakland and Maccomb counties in the state of Michigan. A near northern suburb of Detroit. October 2013 RPG meet and Greet

RPG Meet and Greet @ GOB Sunday, Nov 3rd GOB Retail is planning a new type of event for role-players. It is a meet and greet to help connect players together with game masters. The idea is this: 1) Game Masters Sign Up Game Masters can sign up with us to showcase their games on the meet and greet day, Sunday, November 3rd. For this first Meet and Greet day, we are accepting sign ups for up to 9 Game Masters. 2) Game Masters will come in and have the opportunity to showcase the game and all aspects of the game, world, setting, etc that they would like to run. It will be up to each Game Master on what details of the game system and/or world setting they would like to present to potential players. We recommend, at the least, that each Game Master bring the core rules and any other vital parts of the game they are trying to recruit players for. 3) Players can show up between 1pm and 4pm on Sunday, November 3rd to talk with and see what types of games and game groups each game master is looking to establish. If you are Game Masters and Looking to recruit players, Come in and Sign up with us today. Let us know what game system you are recruiting for and submit a short sentence or two about the campaign/setting you wish to run.

October 2013 Warmachine / Hordes and other Miniature gaming Events

Warmachine Machinations: Equilibrium League Start Saturday, October 26th at 2 PM. League run through Wednesday, November 27th The concluding event will be Saturday, December 7th Detail is below :- Escalating Point Cap: For those of you familiar with previous GoB League seasons, we are bringing back the Escalating Point Cap. For those unfamiliar with this, each week will have a maximum point size for any given match for all players. League games are NOT required to be played at the maximum size; players are allowed to play at the point cap or smaller games. Team games have a different point cap which is based on per player and NOT per team. Here is the schedule for the point cap: October 26th-Nov 1st: 25 points; 15 points per player (team games) November 2nd-8th: 35 points; 25 points per player (team games) November 9th-15th: 50 points; 35 points per player (team games) November 16th-20th: 75 points; 50 points per player (team games) November 21st-27th: 100 points; 75 points per player (team games) Unbound games are an exception to the above point caps. Every player may partake in 1 solo Unbound game (one-on-one) and 1 team Unbound game each week without restriction to the point cap. Ending Event: the top eight participants from the league will be invited to partake in a 35 point Steamroller Tournament on December 7th to wrap up this season's league. No reinforcements or specialists. Any bonds between warlocks/warcasters from the season will be maintained, even if the warbeast/warjack is destroyed during the tournament. No new bonds will be formed during the tournament. Lastly, there will be regions for each round; although many of the results may be ignored due to the nature of their rules. Dice start rolling at 12:30pm. The Regions do not have any special rules attached and both scenarios only utilize flags without too much in terms of rules attached. (You can't change decks after entering an event.) You build a Constructed deck using any of the cards you own, but most formats only let you use cards from certain sets. Constructed decks must contain a minimum of sixty cards. There is no maximum deck size; however, you must be able to shuffle your deck with no assistance. If a player wishes to use a sideboard, it must contain exactly fifteen cards. Prize support : - October's prize foil: Ghor-Clan Rampager - 1st and 2nd place receive one prize card each - Door prize: The tournament organizer will award the remaining two prize cards to two players that did not place first or second. - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place receive $ store credit (how much depends on participants) GOB Retail Magic League: Fall 2013 Hi Everyone, Its about that time to kick off the next Magic the Gathering league here at GOB Retail. We'll be doing things a fair bit differently this time, simplifying things some in the process. League Start Time: Wed, October 23rd League End Time: Thu, December 5th League Entering Tourney: Thu, December 12th While it is still our goal for our leagues to be both casual and very accessible to everyone, we are moving away from a purely free event and charging $2 for league entry. This is a 1 time fee and is good for the entire league season. Format: In this league season we are reducing the deck formats down to just 5 playable formats. These are: Noble (all commons, except 4 uncommon + 1 rare/Mythic as the noble) Standard Modern Vintage (Proxy 20) Commander With the new league format, players will play matches against other league players only against the same deck format. So, Standard vs Standard, Modern vs Modern, etc. Matches will be the best 2 out of 3 games. Matches and Scoring: League players may agree to play any other league player at any time. The two must simply agree on a format to play. We will be inviting all league participants to a league group in the Gamer Finder for ease of communication. We will be posting a league poster score sheet in the gaming room. Whenever a match is played, the winner will post a win on the score sheet and the losing player initials. Winning the League: The league will have will one champion for each deck format. That person shall be the player with the most wins with that deck format by the end of regular league play. League Ending Tournament: The top 2 players with each deck format by the end of league play shall be invited to play in the league ending tournament. The league ending tournament shall consist of 4 rounds of game play, with each of those found rounds being played with a different deck format. The deck formats to be used for the ending event will be Noble, Standard, Modern and Vintage (proxy 20). They will be played in that order. A single deck may be used to play multiple formats, so long as they deck qualifies for such (ie, a Standard deck would also be legal to play as a Modern deck and a Vintage Proxy 20 one as well). Prizes: Each of our format champions will get an Ultra Pro deck box and $5 in store credit that can be applied to any Magic singles. The winner of the league ending event shall get an additional amount of store credit, based on overall league participation.
