And now the second seaon of the WARMACHINE/HORDES leagues has come! Guild of Blades Retail in Madison Heights, MI is proud to host the Machinations: Anomaly league starting May 4th, 2013. The last day of league play is scheduled for June 6th, with the concluding event on June 8th.
Her are the details:
For those of you familiar with the GoB League seasons from last year, we are bringing back the Escalating Point Cap. For those unfamiliar with this, each week will have a maximum point size for any given match for all players. League games are NOT required to be played at the maximum size; players are allowed to play at the point cap or smaller games. Team games have a different point cap which is based on per player and NOT per team. Here is the schedule for the point cap:
May 4th-10th: 25 points; 15 points per player (team games)
May 11th-17th: 35 points; 25 points per player (team games)
May 18th-24th: 50 points; 35 points per player (team games)
May 25th-31st: 75 points; 50 points per player (team games)
June 1st-6th: 100 points; 75 points per player (team games)
Unbound games are an exception to the above point caps. Every player may partake in 1 solo Unbound game (one-on-one) and 1 team Unbound game each week without restriction to the point cap.
Also making a return will be the Opponent Restriction. Players may play against a given opponent a number of times (over the course of the league) equal to how many total opponents they have WILL have faced after that match.
For example, Player A plays against Player B once, now Player A can play against any opponent 1 time. When Player A plays against Player C, Player A may now play against any opponent twice.
NOTE: since the Opponent Restriction is based on how many opponents you will have faced after your match, your restriction is increased by the number of members on your opposing team in Team Games.
NEW THIS SEASON: Players will now have the option to play their league matches with Timed Turns as per the Steamroller 2013 rules. Time limits are for your game's point size or the next point size higher, if both players agree; extensions are of the amount for the agreed upon time limits. If players agree to play with Timed Turns, rather than players ending their activations during matches when time is out, players may opt to award their opponent 1 control point instead and finish their turn.
Region Limitations: to allow players to digest ALL the rules of the league without overloading, we are going to limit the playable regions based on the weeks. As follows:
May 4th-17th: only Regions 7-12 are playable
May 18th-31st: only Regions 1-6 are playable
June 1st-6th: all Regions are playable
Ending Event: the top eight participants from the league will be invited to partake in a 35 point Steamroller Tournament on June 8th to wrap up this season's league. No reinforcements or specialists. Any bonds between warlocks/warcasters from the season will be maintained, even if the warbeast/warjack is destroyed during the tournament. No new bonds will be formed during the tournament. Lastly, there will be regions for each round. Dice start rolling at 12:30pm.
