Hills, Birmingham,Pontiac, Oak Park and Waterford. The store is just 1 mile east off of I-75, which makes it easily accessible from further out via connections with I-696, I-96 and M59.

Hi everyone. A reminder that GOB Retail's second Warmachine League begins this coming Saturday, April 14th. Players typically begin playing around 2pm.
Cost: Still just $8.
The League will be open to the first 16 players who sign up.
It will be a 4 week league this time, starting play on April 14th and ending on Saturday, May 12th.
Saturday, May 19th will be the league ending tournament, which will include the top 8 ranked players from the league with the top four becomng team captains. The tournament will be 2 rounds of single elimination play between four 2 man teams.
League play itself will have point caps for each week of play. Players may agree to play games with armies up to the point cap or they may play armies at any of the lower point levels. Point cap schedule would be:
Week 1 = 25 points
Week 2 = 35 points
week 3 = 50 points
week 4 = 100 points
This league will also include options for team play. 2 vs 2. For these games players may play armies up to one point cap tier less than the currently weekly point cap. So these would be:
Week 1 = 15 points (per player)
Week 2 = 25 points (per player)
Week 3 = 35 points (per player)
Week 4 = 75 points (per player).
As in 1 on 1 matches, players may agree to play a point cap less than the weekly maximum for that week in league play.
So come on in and join the GOB Retail Warmachine community. Warmachine and Hordes factions are both ok.

I was reviewing the Team game points scoring found under the Alliance section last paragraph where it states that you only score Scoreboard and Map points when you play a game with your Alliance member. I did a post @ Privateer Press that suggests that they change this at least as far as Scoreboard points go. Right now as there is no Cryx or Cygnar players in the league all Circle and Thornfall players will never get points for the team games they play. Also note that I need to have my Faction changed from Minions to Thornfall as the league breaks the two Minion Factions into their own Jr. Factions.

As a point of contention I think Spike is playing which means there is a Cryx player... just so you know.
Also I believe there are the rules listed on the privateer press forums with the boasts and all of that... I am sure that Kev would be willing to put up more information either on there or here is there is still confusion or unanswered questions.

There is a mistake with the points. Tom Lundberg won the battle him and I played via Scenario Victory conditions. I have 2 wins and 1 loss. I should be at 2 (caster kill win but failed boast) + 2.5 (Win with boast) + 1 (loss) = 5.5 pts. Tom should be at 2 + 3 = 5 pts as he was able to get my boast pts for the game we played.
As there is now a Cryx player I am hoping Kevin & Ryan will edit the rules then for having to play with your Alliance member to earn points either for the board or the map. There still is no Cygnar player and they are my ally and thus I would earn no points for a Team game and neither would my partner according to the rules as written. Also there are no Blindwater or Khador players and as they are allies we do not have an issue for them teaming up. Just my Thornwood pact.

From my understanding, first highest picks first, second highest after that picks second, third highest after that picks third till there are four teams. If I understand wrong, bummer, but I'll survive either way.

You are correct. The order would be Kevin W, Tom, Me and then you Matt. I think there will be some more information coming out about timing and when all that will happen soon either on here for via email from Ryan or Kevin D.
All that being said I was just thinking that if the 4 of us have anyone in mind then we wont have to take as much time next Saturday. Also that way we can start talking with our team member before Saturday. That way too we wont be all thinking that we can pick the same person or something... Just figured I would get the conversation started and go from there.Reply |

| I have looked over what all I could bring, and I feel this offers my partner, who ever they will be, the best I can bring to them. So this or the same list with krueger is what I plan on running, since I won't even know who -could- be my partner till the night of. if you decide you want to team up with someone, but aren't first to pick, you might lose who you wanted as an option. Since I get last pick regardless, it really doesn't matter if I try to set up with a partner before hand or not. So why not set up what works best for me ahead of time? Reply |

| Matt I dont think he was saying that it is bad that you already have a list or anything like that but that by looking at what you posted other team caps can make sure they plan to take down your list specifically if they want. There are only so many tactics that can be done with some lists so it is hard not to be able to tell what you are going to do. That being said we can be totally wrong and miss something too but it can be a disadvantage to allow others to see what you are planning already. Reply |

*shrug* That may be, but since for this you really can't work out a good strat with someone ahead of time, and since some party members will have to still keep an eye on the clock, I might as well bring the list I can that will let me do the most for my team mate either offensively or defensively. I figure best I can do for my team mate is bring the models that work best for me.

Good point... that being said just so you know there isnt anything that says you couldnt plan a little ahead of time... that goes back to my original post about us getting an idea of who we might be looking at picking... this will allow us to maybe talk to that person just a little bit before Saturday... that being said if no one is sure who they are picking yet then we will be all at the same place come Saturday... it will totally depend on how much time is spent before hand...
All that being said I think everyone knows that I am playing Grayle and that I intend to keep along with the same ideas as I had the whole league so it may be easy to plan against me too.
Either way it is still all supposed to be fun and really as long as that happens and everyone has fun then it wont matter too much about what happens before then...
It is only Monday so we have time either way I was just figuring especially since Spike cant be there until the last minute it may be good to find out who is picking him and stuff so that that team caption can talk some stuff over with him and there is no extra delay.

Yes, 1st place in League will get to pick their partner first; then 2nd place picks second, etc. This does mean that 4th place gets to pick last. So, after talking with Ryan, here is the plan: while 4th place in League does not really get to pick their partner, they WILL get to pick their opponent for the First Tournament Round. We hope that provides 4th Team Captain something of an edge in place of picking their partner.Reply |
