Summary ReviewThe goal is to know the location of the Princess at the end of play, after all, the scenario is Love Letter is that you're delivering said Love Letter to her; kind of riffing on a Romeo & Juliet story. Included in the nice package is a sturdy tote, the cards, and win tokens that allow players to keep track of how many wins a player has. With the ease, speed, and replayability of Love Letters, you'll definitely go back in again and again for games.
Detailed ReviewLove Letter is (I think) a classic micro game. The ease and simplicity make this a game that is perfect for introducing new gamers into the fold, or for experienced gamers to pass time in between more involved gaming sessions. Not only is the game simple, it also is fun! The core mechanics of the game rely on (extremely) light deduction, some low-key bluffing and player reading, and of course, draw deck decision making. Essentially, you get a card in your hand, and you draw a card on your turn. You'll decide which card to play, but this decision is often difficult: some cards help you but others hurt you to play, so there's always a tough decision to make about what card to play. Summary ReviewLove Letter is a very fun, but quick game. I find it works great to play while waiting for people to arrive, or maybe while you're waiting for the pizza to show up. Simple, quick, and easy to play. Recommended.
Detailed ReviewLove Letter is a very short, quick, and easy game. Each player has 1 card, with an assigned number from 1 (Guard) to 8 (Princess). The goal is to get your letter to the Princess, or be the closest one to her. The card you hold represents where you letter is. You can also win by being the last one remaining.

Each turn, you draw one card, and discard one card. Each card has an effect, and you must perform it when you discard it. If you discard the Princess, you lose the game. Other actions may include allowing you to see what another player has in their hand, trading cards with someone, or comparing cards with another player and the one with the lower value is out of the round. If players still remain after the deck runs out, the one with the highest value wins.

THe highest valued cards only have one copy in the deck, while the lower ones have two copies in the deck. The lowest (1 - Guard) is the only valued card with more than two in the deck.

It is played over a number of rounds - each round you win, you gain a cube to track it. It plays until a certain number, depending on the number of players. There is no reason you can't just play one round, or lots of rounds, depending on your situation though, and that is one of the things I love about it.
